HERD's Upland Tweed is a celebration of British heritage and provenance.
“A tweed this soft, that is also grown and made from British Bluefaced Leicester wool, simply didn’t exist – until now,” says HERD founder Ruth Alice Rands. “Our tweed reimagines the heritage cloth through a modern lens – it’s smoother, softer and unmistakably British given that its source, manufacturer & design are all rooted in British soil. We've spent a year developing it, working with a master weaver we found in the Scottish Borders who understands our mission to create a fabric that feels as good as it looks when worn.”
An exquisite piece of modern heritage, the Penrith Collection is true British luxury tweed, made from pedigree North England Bluefaced Leicester wool, plant-dyed in Yorkshire and woven and finished in Scotland. Exceptionally soft - the breed is known as the 'cashmere of British wool'.
Detail - The Penrith Jacket is a mid-length jacket with shawl collar and purled tassels around the collar. It has front buttons and a waist tie, secured in place by two buttons at the back.
Material - 100% British Bluefaced Leicester breed wool. Made entirely within a 150-mile radius of the farms where the sheep are reared in Northern England, reflecting the brand’s hyper-local, soil-to-skin approach.
Washing - Wool requires minimal washing. Spot clean and air, or hand wash in cool water if absolutely necessary to preserve the natural oils in the wool.
