This event held in East London Docklands was a brilliant snapshot of the sustainable textile industry. Technological advances in materials and the processing such as bonding, finishes and use of raw materials like food waste, fast-growing and carbon sequestering plants like seaweed and the reworking of existing supply chains to be more ethical and beneficial were all there. We loved this map of the UK textile industry, and would love to see this flourish with more awareness and investment from brands and consumers.
