Read over the summer holidays from a sun lounger, but set deep in the hills of Galloway on the Scottish borders the reader is transported and immersed into one man's journey back to his roots and into a landscape and ecosystem. Overflowing with information about farming and biodiversity but reads like fiction. Particularly interesting in the connections between farming and birdlife in upland areas.
